Lloyd Lee Choi is a Korean-Canadian writer/director living in Brooklyn. His short film, SAME OLD (2022), had its World Premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, 1 of 9 films in the main competition. It went on to premiere at TIFF (Special Jury Mention), Melbourne Int’l Film Fest, New York Film Fest, and over 100 festivals worldwide. SAME OLD also won 1st place at the 2022 HBOmax APA Visionaries Awards and won Best Short of Festival award at Raindance. He is currently developing the feature adaptation with Destin Daniel Cretton’s company Family Owned.

Lloyd’s recent short film, CLOSING DYNASTY (2023) won the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film (Generations) at the 73rd Berlinale, the Audience Award at SXSW, the Grand Jury Prize at AFI Fest, Best US Short at Palm Springs, and Best Short Film at Hawaii Int’ Film Festival. The film was supported through the Future Gold Film Fellowship - 1 of 3 filmmakers selected by Netflix, Tribeca, and Gold House.

Lloyd was also named 30-under-30 by Marketing Magazine and has directed global campaigns for brands like Google, Chevrolet, Sony, and Nat Geo. He balances his work slate with socially conscious projects, writing and directing short films and PSA’s for ACLU, Zappos, AARP, and Stress Health. Passionate about representation in front and behind the camera, he is deeply driven to highlight the minority and immigrant experience - one rich with new and compelling stories to tell. Stories that reflect the real world around us.

Lloyd is repped at WME with Phil D’Amecourt (features) and Matt Balick (TV), and is managed by Jeff Ciabattari and Danny Sherman at Canopy Media.
